These are ornaments the kids and I have made over the years. There is even one that I made when I was a Brownie Girl Scout- can we say ANCIENT…

We read the Story of Jesus and the Manger. Within the Story it showed Sheep next to the Manger, so we made Sheep to symbolize Jesus and the Manger.
We used Yarn to make Pom Poms, and felt and pipe cleaners for the characteristics (face, legs).
Lastly we threaded ribbon through the pom pom for hanging.
Oh, let’s not forget the googly eyes- just for fun.

Promises
The kids and I read about the Story of Noah tonight. We read about the flood that covered Earth, Why God sent a Flood, How the Flood receded, and God’s promise to never Flood the Earth again (insert the various details).
God made rainbows to show us his promise. I think it is truly awesome that every time a rainbow appears we can remember God’s promise.
Genesis 9:8-17
The kids made rainbows with raindrops coming down. On each raindrop the kids made a promise to God. Their promises varied from “I promise to Love Daddy and Mommy” to “I promise to try and keep my room clean”. The kids decided to hang their rainbows somewhere they can see them everyday. I liked the aspect that I was able to incorporate the proper placement of the colors of the rainbow into the lesson as well. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and sometimes Purple.
Oh, and let’s not forget the other lessons- team work, cooperation, family time, writing practice, art, and the list goes on, and on…
