Lego Boy and Jelly Bean playing Tic Tac Toe- to Lego Boy’s surprise Jelly Bean won : )

Sunshine wrote out her ABC’s on the drive way and right behind her Jelly Bean decided she would like to write her ABC’s too.

I think Jelly Bean (and Sunshine) did a wonderful job : ) Truth be told- I asked Sunshine to do this in hopes that Jelly Bean would feed into it and want to write

her ABC’s : ) Psychology, Psychology : )

What one will find in a home with an inventive son.

I opened my freezer to find that amongst my freezer contents

my son had placed one of his clone troopers to be froze in a container of water.

I suppose the lesson on different forms of matter (Gas, Liquid, and Solid) must have stuck.

The girls were having such a great time playing this game of Memory.

You flip over the cards and find the match- one card is in English while the other is in Spanish.

Promises

The kids and I read about the Story of Noah tonight.  We read about the flood that covered Earth, Why God sent a Flood, How the Flood receded, and God’s promise to never Flood the Earth again (insert the various details).

God made rainbows to show us his promise.  I think it is truly awesome that every time a rainbow appears we can remember God’s promise.

Genesis 9:8-17

The kids made rainbows with raindrops coming down.  On each raindrop the kids made a promise to God.  Their promises varied from “I promise to Love Daddy and Mommy” to “I promise to try and keep my room clean”.  The kids decided to hang their rainbows somewhere they can see them everyday.  I liked the aspect that I was able to incorporate the proper placement of the colors of the rainbow into the lesson as well.  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and sometimes Purple.

Oh, and let’s not forget the other lessons- team work, cooperation, family time, writing practice, art, and the list goes on, and on…

Sunshine is officially a homeschooler “again” : )

She was homeschooled while in Kindergarten then we moved to another state and we decided to put her in public school for first grade- BIG MISTAKE! So, she is home with me again as of today.

Hey, at least we can say we gave it a try…

The Drum Lady.  She was so wonderful with the kids.  She really had them totally in tune with her lesson.

A combination of the love of Literature and the fun of magic together.  He was really entertaining and very, very funny and entertaining to watch.  He had the kids laughing practically the whole time- well that is when they were not in awe and amazement.

Mad Science, what else is there to say? Well, Kiersten had asked me the other day what dry ice was… well Heath brought out some dry ice and combined a short history lesson into it.  He talked about how George Washington was one of our president’s and how he is on the front of a quarter.  He talked about a battle which happened during a very cold winter then stuck the quarter in the dry ice where the quater shivers because it was cold : ) Just like Washington must have shivered from being cold- very interesting.

Benjamin Franklin.  Good History Lessons from the separation from England to the Boston Tea Party to of course the Declaration of Independence.  Made me want to get the history books out for more lessons : )

The kids all assisted from measuring/ converting measurements (in example, 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon and two 1/4 cups = 1/2 cup) to cracking the eggs to bursting with excitement when the first one was done.

A recipe for keeps : ) Family Time and Yummy waffles- A great combination.
