What a beautiful, warm sunny day. A day to relax and just soak up the sun.
Lego Boy, who is normally afraid of pretty much everything was the first one to dive into the vastness of the ocean water and feel its escape to coolness. Sunshine just took in the waters beauty from the warmth of the sand. Jelly Bean as usual was the first to scoop up some sand in her small hands and feel the thousand grains go between her fingers. As for me- I sat back and enjoyed the scene unfolding in front of me- my children’s pure joy.
The sensation one feels from the end of a Summer day will last a lifetime.
Jelly Bean getting ready to plant her veggies and fruits garden. I “think” the threat of frost has passed in Colorado?? Though as anyone who lives in Colorado can tell you- it could snow tomorrow : )
We went the next day and purchased herbs, peppers, strawberries, and tomatoes. My husband and I feel it is important to get the kids involved in the planting season. Everyone assisted with planting- even Lego Boy who is mortified by bugs (though we did not see one) got involved.

This is the day after the planting- Jelly Bean and Sunshine could not wait to get outside and check on their produce.
The presents are all under the tree except the ones that arrive on Christmas Eve. On Christmas morning the kids will find one very special gift under the tree for each of them wrapped in gold paper, which is the one Santa delivers on Christmas Eve. Tonight is our traditional cookie baking night. We bake cookies for Santa, which of course we enjoy too. The reindeers will get their treat too- we bake Reindeer granola and spread it on the lawn (mixed with glitter, so the reindeer can see it from the sky).
